Cookies and similar technology

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. We group ours into three types.

Strictly necessary. These keep the site working. They hold your cart, your reservation in progress, and basic security. You cannot switch these off.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages and menus people read. This tells us what to improve. We do not use it to identify you personally.

Advertising. We use the Meta Pixel and Google advertising tags to measure whether our ads work and to show our ads to people who are likely to be interested. We manage these tags through Google Tag Manager.

You can change your choice at any time. Click Cookie Preferences in the footer of any page.

Targeted advertising

We process personal data for targeted advertising through the Meta Pixel and Google advertising tags. Under Texas law, sharing data with these advertising partners can count as a "sale" of personal data.

You can opt out. Use the Cookie Preferences link in the footer, or email events@cocodyrestaurant.com with the subject line "Opt out."

We do not sell sensitive personal data. We do not use your data for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

Global Privacy Control

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt out of targeted advertising and of any sale of your personal data. We apply it automatically. You do not need to do anything else.

Why we use your data

  • To take and confirm your reservation or order
  • To answer your questions about private events and catering
  • To send you email that you asked for, and only that
  • To understand how the site is used so we can make it better
  • To measure our advertising
  • To meet legal and accounting obligations

Who we share it with

We share only what a partner needs to do its job.

  • BentoBox / Clover Hospitality, who host this website and run our online ordering
  • OpenTable, for reservations
  • Payment processors, for card transactions
  • Google, for analytics and advertising measurement
  • Meta, for advertising measurement
  • Delivery partners, when you order delivery

We do not sell your name, email address, or phone number to data brokers.

Your rights in Texas

If you live in Texas, you can ask us to:

  • Confirm whether we process your personal data, and give you a copy
  • Correct data that is wrong
  • Delete data we hold about you
  • Give you your data in a portable format
  • Stop using your data for targeted advertising, sale, or profiling

To make a request, email events@cocodyrestaurant.com. We will answer within 45 days. If we need more time, we will tell you why and take up to 45 more days.

If we say no, you can appeal. Reply to our decision within a reasonable period and write "Appeal" in the subject line. We will review it and answer within 60 days. If we deny the appeal, we will give you a link to file a complaint with the Texas Attorney General.

How long we keep it

We keep reservation and order records for as long as we need them for accounting and tax purposes. We keep marketing email addresses until you unsubscribe. Analytics data expires after 14 months.

Security

We use encrypted connections across the site. Our vendors handle payment data under their own security standards. No system is perfect, so we ask you not to send card numbers or sensitive details by email.

Children

This site is not for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top.
