Our Story: Cocody Restaurant & Bar, from Abidjan to Houston

Every table begins somewhere. Ours began in Cocody, beside the Ébrié Lagoon in Abidjan. It came by way of Paris, crossed an ocean, and found a home in Houston.

Our Founders: Edith & Edwin Bosso

Both born in Côte d'Ivoire, Edith and Edwin Bosso spent their childhood in Cocody. Their road ran through Paris and London before it brought them to Houston, where they opened our doors in 2023. The restaurant carries the name of the place where it all began.

On December 1, 2023, Cocody Restaurant & Bar opened its doors on West Gray, in River Oaks. Its golden horseshoe bar was inspired by the Hôtel Plaza Athénée in Paris, one of Edith's favorite places.

In the Kitchen: Chef Lionel Debon, Executive Chef

Chef Lionel Debon leads our kitchen as executive chef. He cooked in Michelin-starred kitchens in Europe and came to Cocody from Le Mistral, the Houston French restaurant that closed in 2019 after 18 years. His cooking blends French technique with global inspiration.
